Monteloeder has received an R&D project called Naturelief intending to create a preventive strategy based on a plant-based ingredient and digital technology to address chronic pain. Work has already commenced on the Naturelief R&D project. The new functional ingredient will be based on botanical extracts and will be used in food supplements as a preventive solution in the management of chronic pain.
Under the title “Development of new functional ingredient of plant origin and digital technology as a preventive strategy against chronic pain,” the initiative will design a digital instrument to optimize consumption and manage consumers’ use. While Monteloeder is leading the project, other public and private entities with recognized expertise in the relevant fields are included in the collaboration.
Naturelief is organized for 24 months from 2020 to 2022 and is divided into two technical-economic milestones. The associated budget is 600,000 euros with support from the CDTI and the European’s Union’s ERDF. The project’s innovation is based on the selection of natural active ingredients from plants that can act on various pain targets on the body. Additionally, it plans to identify the most efficient active compounds and formulate new elements that help prevent chronic pain issues. The project envisages the development of new digital technology that can offer a complete evaluation of the ingredient’s efficacy in the clinical study, and consequently provide an optimal and personalized experience to consumers of the functional ingredient.
