ecently, StePac expanded its top seals with new solutions to improve the retail fresh produce packaging center. The new upgraded portfolio embraces lean and fully recyclable easy-peel structures, and the films are designed to be sealed onto containers that hold various fresh produce items. They are user-friendly, appealing, and engineered with StePac’s flagship Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP). The seals are designed to extend the shelf life of fresh produce and preserve the product’s quality and nutritional values. They have in-built modified atmosphere properties that delay the aging process and inhibit microbial decay.
According to StePac’s Business Development Manager, Gary Ward, “StePac is leading the transition from the use of traditional clamshells for packaging fresh berries to leaner, greener, and more attractive top seal solutions.” The new seal has several advantages, including reduction of plastic use, and is easily recyclable. It also ensures food safety. The seals have been used to preserve the quality of summer fruits in the domestic Israeli market by Rafkor, an Israeli company that packs fruits from farmers in Upper Galilee. The company attests that the new seals have increased product sales.
StePac’s new seals have also gained traction due to their tamper evidence mechanism, assuring clients that the packaging has not been breached. The organization has embraced packaging solutions on the cold chain logistics of whole fruits and vegetables, encompassing long-haul shipments and bulk storage. Furthermore, its influence on the retail sector is significantly increasing due to its diverse packaging solutions. Given the company’s impressive packaging portfolio, StePac has also ventured into the minimally produced cold food sector. The new top-seal solution preserves freshly chopped fruits and vegetables without losing their nutritional value. Thus, customers can enjoy their salads while on the go.
Ward explained that “StePac is continuously innovating to bring a broad and versatile range of sustainable packaging solutions that will represent the next best thing in modified atmosphere technology. Our goal is to merge convenience, quality assurance, safety, aesthetics, and ethical values into our portfolio packaging offerings.”
